Monica Plaxton Garin is the managing member of Charleston Insurance Group, LLC. Ms. Plaxton Garin is committed to providing exceptional service to her clients, with honesty and reliability serving as the cornerstones of Charleston’s success.

Ms. Plaxton Garin grew up in Oakland County, Michigan, and earned her B.A. in Pre‑Law Social Sciences from Michigan State University. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor in 2001 from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and her M.S. in Psychology in 2022. 

She is a licensed Property and Casualty Producer in Nevada, Michigan, California, Utah, and Arizona, as well as a licensed attorney in Michigan.

Ms. Plaxton Garin is a member of the American Bar Association and the Michigan Bar Association. She is actively involved with numerous local and state nonprofit organizations, including Sunrise Children’s Foundation (where she serves as Chair of the Board), Make‑A‑Wish Nevada, Cure 4 The Kids Foundation (where she serves at Chair of the Parent Advisory Committee), and the Tyler Robinson Foundation. In 2014, Ms. Plaxton Garin was honored as one of Vegas Inc.’s “40 Under 40.”

Before founding Charleston Insurance Group, LLC in 2008, Ms. Plaxton Garin worked as a commercial defense litigator, counseling clients on professional liability claims, real estate law, title insurance defense, and premises liability. She managed and conducted litigation involving title insurance, architects and engineers, landlord‑tenant disputes, construction defect, and related matters. Her legal background continues to be a valuable asset to Charleston Insurance Group and its clients.
